Brooklyn Ice-Cream factory.... You will love it

0 People commented...

Brooklyn Ice-Cream Factory, this place has been permanently imprinted in my memory, and will be tagged as the ‘The Best Place for Ice-Cream’ and it is for real, once you have it Ben-N-Jerry has not chance.

Few weeks ago, I was watching my favorite show ‘Best Things I ever Ate…’ in Food Network. Today episode was on Ice-Cream, that when this particular chef (I do not recall) mentioned about this favorite place for Ice-Creams is Brooklyn Ice-Cream Factory.

Few weeks later while we were walking over Brooklyn Bridge, we can catch a glimpse of this place, so we walked to this place.

First sight of this place made me really indeed this place is really famous for its ice-cream, as more then 30 people were in line baking under sun for their ice-cream, after 15 minutes of wait we were in, only to realize that a place need not have to be famous by its ambience and wow factor. This place just had two small tables with 6-8 chairs and for ambience they had some old picture of Brooklyn, that all and walls of refrigerator unit stacked with buckets of ice-cream.

In that particular episode the chef had ‘Butter Pecan’, so I had to have that… walked outside sat on a chair on boardwalk, and next 10 minutes I had no idea what was happing around me, I was not even distracted by mighty skyscraper Manhattan Downtown view with the new World Trade Center in front across river on left you can catch glimpse of Statue of Liberty on right photogenic Brooklyn Bridge, those ten minutes all I was just focused on my ice-cream.

It’s the best Ice-Cream I ever had in my life, only regrets why I have not been earlier this this place, never the less, I enjoyed until the last tiny bit of my Butter Pecan Ice-Cream.

One really need to taste to enjoy this ice-cream, words wont justify the smooth rich creamy flavor of it, this ice-cream is one such sin even a calorie conscious people can have it.

So next time if you happen to be around Downtown Manhattan walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and enjoy ‘Butter Pecan’ at Brooklyn Ice-Cream Factory.

Foodies.... We..... Compatible

When two people from different walk of life play to dwell a single life… still require a lot of support and commitment, and quote often, we tend to hear questions, so how did you guys start of, so how is the cultural gap working out between you, and I am sure you guys have some common grounds to stand on.

What generally is done by most of us, try to wade through the question and look really over it, as you both know it’s not the culture that binds you….

In our case we have a strong agent of binding ‘FOOD’ please doesn’t be surprised, its true, down the live we have know that we really do have strong taste buds and more over we love preparing food.

Just to tell an incidence, couple of weeks back we both were watching some TV show, and in that we so them eating ‘Bread Pakoda’ (to explain: you prepare a mash potato add all spice required, stuff it in between 2 diagonal slice of bread, dip it in Corn-Flour mix and deep fry), so back to the story in net 45 minutes we both were savoring the delicacy.

I would love to share some of the dishes we prepared in last 2 weeks or so (Not to mention we have a whole album on Picasa to support)

Brunch: will it be picked in Food Magazine

How should a weekend start….
Most of us would be loving to start our weekend in the cozy comfort bed… tucked under warm layer of comforter, especially when the  weather is all overcast, and the clouds are pick dark, in a dilemma and checking their watches to decide is it time or do they have to wait for some more time….  As the mighty sun was blazing all week long….
I am still looking at the sky…. Just to feel the rain… it reminds me of the time I was in Pune… start June… any weekend it rained we friend would love ride our bikes towards Lonavala (which is a rain catchment area so it just rains heavily). But this time I would rather sit by the window and enjoy the rain with hot sipping cup of coffee.
I wanted to have breakfast, but was lazy what to make, so with my laziness I decided to prepare only Bunch (in a way to avoid any Lunch as well).

When I prepared I thought of preparing it a bit more fancy:
So what you see is ‘Egg-Roll’ on the sides, and in the center I lined up kiwi some strawberry and with some back grapes…. Volla we have a recipe from ‘Best-Brunch’

We are foodies…

0 People commented...

As I mentioned in my last blog ‘Dinner Tonight’… where I was emphasizing on how complex and tough at time it becomes when the decision has to be made ‘What’s cooking for Dinner’ as usual today also it was not any different.

But today it happened to be bit easy… as we had some rice prepared… not sufficient for two of us that lead to an easy and simple decision of preparing Chinese and India snacks as we prepared ‘Fried-Rice’ and ‘Pakodas’

Need i that it was yummy….

While we both were preparing for dinner, she commented… ‘It is good that we both are foodies, else it would have been tough if any one of us was not that inclined in all preparing process’
And guess what I myself feel the same…

Ahhh… we didn’t had any Wine to toast for tonight’s dinner… nevertheless the dinner was amazing and we enjoyed it over a nice ‘Desi Romantic movie – I Hate Love Story

Dinner Tonight!!!

4 People commented...

It is one such question that I can bet would be haunted to many of us…. I used to feel this question scares the most if you are staying alone (Bachelor life… I cont disclose the benefit of it… as I am no more in that elite group)… but to say the truth it do not matter if you are a couple….

Whenever this question comes…. I feel I am pushed back to my school days when I not prepared for the surprise quiz I would be completely clueless and would be mumbling… the same effect still take place at time when I, and now we both are confused… what cooking tonight… or what’s for Dinner tonight

So as usual we were sitting and chit chatting and were having a hard time to decide what to cook for dinner… and we both mumbling and not able to decide what to and what not to….

But know as the Rotis are being prepared…. I should say that we are having a nice full course meal….

Dal prepared by her…. Soybean sabzi prepared by her, and Rotis again by her….

It’s time to savor the nice meal we prepared…. bon appetite….

After all this effort we are done for Monday only… this do not assure again tomorrow we will not be chased by the same question…. why to worry today thinking of tomorrow…

Mantra of life…. ‘Live in the moment’

So what did you had or what are you having for dinner tonight…..

This is what we both had....

Foodies --- Pani Puri

2 People commented...
We (I & J) have been planning to prepare Pani-Puri from past some time, and we had a small hurdle in that we then would have to buy blender.
And if you have to avoid blender from buying one can get every thing available in ready to eat section in store, but that would not have made the food we prepare mouth-watering.

So finally we decided over the weekend we are on mission Pani-Puri.
Saturday we had a Afternoon birthday party to attend, but still we went to Indian Street (People leaving in New Jersey are aware of how horrible weekend public travel is) the distance that can be covered in 15min in car took us close to 90 mins, but our Pani-Puri mission was still determined.
After shopping all the required:
- Blender
- Ready made Puri
- Grocery (Whole Tamarind, Pani-Puri Masala, Ripe Mango, Mint Leaves, Lemon, Green Chili)

We reached back home only by 3:30 and went straight away to the Birthday Party of a 2 years old sweet kiddo. We were back home by 7:30pm. Every weekend adrenal rush is skyrocketing, later evening we had a failed attempt to watch Ranjneeti (Nice movie after a long time) only to see that the 9:30pm show is houseful so finally we reached back home by 10:30pm.

J and I were still spirited and determined to prepare Pani-Puri, meanwhile our lazy Mr A was already in sleep mode and in no time he dozed off.
She prepared the Green Mint chutney, i prepared the Tamarind chutney, and along with stuffing for Puri (cooked whole chic beans) was prepared

We woke lazy A and finally its fine to taste and eat loads of Pani-Pori, generally people have it as evening snacks while we were having this at 1:30am which itself show how fanatic a normal weekends are with us...

Its Quiz time… (Food that you love to be fat free) :-0

1 People commented...
Okay time to share a truth, food is one of my weakness (I am not going to discuss my other weakness at this point :-o)

In current time is guess all of us or most of us would always have small thought running in our head when ever we are to have a big bite of the favorite food which we do love.. few question which do haunt many would be, How much calorie does this have?... if I do have this daily will I really put some extra weight?(on top of my current weight) and so on…

Most of us would also be thinking why, why, this has to be have so much calorie of so much fats in a bite of my lovely food…

The best food which would be worst for heath would be many, just to mention a few
- French fries (why god has cheated on us)
- Chocolate fudges… and so on…

I seriously cannot mention any more as this really hurts me which is pen then down without tasting it hehehe

So all food lovers and friend… please do mention one or more food (which you do crave to have) And if you wish it to come true and that would have no calorie and no fat in it so that you could have that any time and every time… o-)

My List:
- Ice Chocolate Fudge(As I do write it I am having a portion of it with a guilt in me)
- Strawberry Cheese cake
- Dark Chocolate
- Alloo Paratha with more and more butter

Please do comment in your list and let me also know how much food lover all of you are….
